Final Year Project

An Approach to identify Elephants from colour images using Convolutional Neural Networks

Photographic elephant identification is one of the cheapest, less invasive and most common elephant marking method. It is currently a human-made operation based on the comparison of each new photo with all the images of the zoologist’s database looking to possible similarities with respect to some distinguishing biological features. Hence this research aims on investigating a method to uniquely identity elephants using Convolutional neural networks and automate the elephant identification process
