Final Year Project

Customizable anomaly identification methodology for mass moving objects utilizing contextual & sensor data

The research develops a methodology to facilitate users without a strong technical background to manipulate data and define rules to identify anomalies in moving objects in a given context with emphasis on data gathered from sensors in common mobile devices. The significance is due to increased utility that these increasingly prevalent sensor data provide which is however limited by the need for strong technical know-how of users.
The research focuses mainly on geo location sensors, due to potential uses and increasing popularity of geo location sensing. In the case study, the focus is on non-technical surveillance system operators who query location and other data to identify anomalies in behavior of marine vessels of Sri Lanka which, carry mobile devices.
